I find myself truly happy when I am creating. I have always created – from my early years of finger painting on rocks in the creek bed behind my grandmother’s house to present day with colored pencils on paper or acrylic on canvas. Painting is not only a stress reliever, but also a source of joy and expression.
I am most inspired by nature, probably from those days playing in the creek. I enjoy zooming in on different things, focusing on it up close, often abstracting from it. I’m not limited to nature as my subject, though. I love to explore color as a subject in itself by having one color blend into another, creating a feeling of calm or joy with my color choices.
I find myself moving among mediums, keeping creative ideas flowing. Currently, my media of choice are acrylic, resin, encaustic, and alcohol ink. I enjoy using these media alone as well as together to create unique pieces of art.
