WORKSHOP: Still Lifes in Oil with Luke Marion
Want to learn the basics of still lifes in oil?
In this workshop you will create your own original still life using household and found objects as well as items from nature.
Instructor Luke Marion will be teaching the fundamentals and ideas around still lifes, including the difference between oil paint knowledge and principles versus practical application in action. Luke will show the process by which he sets up, starts and finishes a still life, demonstrating the principles and tricks used to plan and get through a painting session while successfully breathing life into this classical genre of painting.

This interactive workshop is suitable for all ages looking to learn about the fundamentals of setting up and creating a still life painting. This session will use oils, but the general techniques can be used for acrylic and other mediums as well.

Cost is $50 per participant. Cost includes all supplies for participants including the completed piece you will take home! Feel free to bring items i.e. leaves, flowers, fruit, home items like grocery containers, cans etc., though the instructor will also have some participants can use. If you would like to work in a medium other than oil, please bring your own paints or other materials you may need. Oil supplies will be provided.Description text goes here

CANCELLED - Folded Paper Workshop with Eliza Redmann
This class provides everything you need to create your own geometric sculpture made from folded paper. Using your hands you will assemble laser-cut paper forms into a sculptural composition to produce a mesmerizing one-of-a-kind handmade piece of art you get to take home!
Alcohol Ink Workshop with Melissa Faller - SOLD OUT
Curious about working with the fluid and rich medium of alcohol ink? Instructor Melissa Faller (Jacarah Designs) will show you how to manipulate alcohol inks with different tools as you learn how the ink moves on paper and ceramic tiles to come away with something beautiful that you can hang on your wall!

Explore Local - Downtown Raleigh Treasure Hunt
Use your treasure map to follow clues and crack codes on this Explore Local Treasure Hunt in partnership with Downtown Raleigh Alliance!
About this event
Explore Local Treasure Hunt Information - Fayetteville Street District
Explore the locally-owned retailers that make Downtown Raleigh unique! Participants will meet at City Plaza (443 Fayetteville St, Raleigh, NC 27601) and then depart with their treasure map on a scavenger hunt where they will follow themed clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes to find and unlock the treasure chest for a grand prize! Winners won’t be determined by speed, so take some time to browse the businesses and snag steals and deals along the way.
The hunt involves walking a distance of 1.5-2.0 miles in total and will take place rain or shine, so long as the weather does not become dangerous. Teams have until 3:00 p.m. to complete the treasure hunt.

Painting Big Skies with Watercolor
In this workshop, instructor Rick Bennett will teach how to paint big skies with beautiful colors. This workshop takes approximately three hours and features instruction, demonstration and individual painting with one-on-one assistance from the instructor.
